- Non-residents can form a Hong Kong company: you need at least one shareholder and one director aged 18 or over, of any nationality; the company secretary must be a Hong Kong resident or a licensed trust or company service provider; the registered office must be a physical Hong Kong address.

Can a non-Hong Kong resident register a Hong Kong company?
Yes. You don't need to be in Hong Kong, as long as the company has:
- Shareholder: at least one, any nationality, an individual or a company.
- Director: at least one individual aged 18 or over, any nationality, no residency requirement.
- Company secretary: a Hong Kong resident or a licensed Hong Kong trust or company service provider (TCSP). A sole director cannot also be the company secretary.
- Registered office: a physical Hong Kong address (not a PO box) for government correspondence.
How long does it take to set up a company?
Usually a few working days. The exact time depends on how quickly the documents are ready and on government processing.
What ongoing work is needed after the company is set up?
Accounting, audit, tax filing and company secretarial duties continue every year, and we can support you long term. For a company formed in January:
- Every January: file the annual return (NAR1) and renew the business registration
- Every April: file the employer's return (BIR56A)
- After the financial year-end: bookkeeping and the annual audit
- Within 1–3 months of receiving the profits tax return: file it with the audited accounts
- As needed: bank KYC reviews, and certification of documents by an accountant for Mainland or overseas investments
